Much like the Widescreen Matte plugin, this draws a fast matte rectangle based on common aspect ratio presets. Includes controls for matte opacity, borders, colors and frame positioning.

Extending Generator Duration

This only applies to generators placed from the Viewer window. I suggest the following to create a generator of any length you need with whatever your favorite settings are:

  1. Open the generator in the Viwer.
  2. Set it to whatever your preferred settings are.
  3. Switch Viewer back to Video (previewing the effect) and drag the video into the Browser.
  4. Click Duration in the Generator’s Browser column, set it to whatever you want, ie. 30 minutes.
  5. When you drag that generator into the timeline, it will be preset with your preferred settings and 30 minutes long.

Using the Beta Plugins

Use the download link on any page to get the latest set, including all current beta plugins. Registered users can test the beta tools without watermarks.

Betas are being developed and tested using FCP 5.1. Feedback is helpful and encouraged, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to support for previous versions of FCP and FCE.

Joe’s Aspect Matte RT Feedback

  1. Hello.

If i downconvert a 1080p HD clip to SD, via Compressor or by FCP sequence tricks - tried everything - the aspect matte ends up either transparent, striped or flickering. Can’t get it right… Suggestions? Even tried downconverting and THEN adding the aspect matte, but to no avail.

    Thanks joe,

    Martin

  2. I really like the Aspect Matte RT, it makes work easy. But I have the same problem like Martin Beek, and other Friends too! Using FCP 6.0.6. Will the Plugin be devolped??
